Bathroom Tips to help prevent slips & falls

There are a few common sense things you can do in your washroom to reduce the risk of falling that you may want to consider.

  1. Ensure that you have non-slip surfaces in the tub or shower. Most of us have this but in case you haven’t you may want to consider it.
  2. Install grab bars by the toilet and bath to help you sit and stand. Make sure they are well anchored not just held up by a couple of screws in the drywall!
  3. You might consider using a raised toilet seat, and a bath seat in the shower, if you think they may help you.
  4. Wipe up moisture or spills immediately to prevent slipping.
